Be Still

Sir Winston Churchill is a well recognized man of history. He was a political Figure and held the title of the British Prime Minister.

But what most people do not know is that he was also a very accomplished painter and workman ( he build many stone cottages on his personal estate ). And he did all of this while he was in office.

For Churchill, it was not about avoiding his duties as Prime Minister, but rather to be able to do his job better and with more focus. He found that having time to step away, time to be "still", allowed his brain to shift and to open; it allowed him time to reflect and gain perspective.

Most of us pour ourselves into our jobs and never seem to find the time to step away. We do not make time for stillness. But we must!

If we are truly going to give our best, to serve at the highest level and to grow we must find time to put effort into other things and allow ourselves to be whole.

This week, learn from one of the most famous people in history - it is not about working more but rather about allowing yourself time for reflection and re-charge. This week allow for stillness and see the productivity follow.
